Established in 1959.
The business was originally started in 1954/1955 at a previous location on Brighton Road, Hove next door to the iconic Tom the Cheap Grocer. Years later, construction work began nearby on new shop premises providing competitive rental and location opportunities.
In 1959 the business was relocated to it's current location shop1, 339 Brighton Road, North Brighton, corner Gladstone Road. In the early 90's the shop was destroyed by fire caused by suspected gas fault in the fryer cooker equipment, fortunately the damage was contained to just the fish shop. The neighboring tenancies were not affected.

Meet the Owners
Business Owners Kosta and Artemis are a husband and wife team with a history in fish and chip / take-away operations. Both grew up working in their family businesses as well as other fish shops, fish & chipperies, cafes, snackbars & restaurants. Artemis had already been working at the shop for a number of years and in May 2010 together with Kosta purchased the business.
The previous owners were close family relatives and it seemed a natural fit with their professional discipline, combined knowledge and experience to continue the classic fish shop family business tradition.
"We love all things fish & chips. The extreme summer heat , long shop days, crazy trading periods, seasonal stock dramas, yummy food and most important people, our customers, suppliers neighbours, helpers and anyone else connected with us in our daily grind.
This was our growing up experience in a close working family life. Here we are today in the footsteps of our adventure spirited parents doing fish & chips with our family and friends the best way we know how and loving it!"
